Job Description

Méliès to Spielberg Projects is searching for a Storyboard Artist—AI or traditional—who is a genuine creator, a true admirer of cinema, and someone who understands that the herd is not where innovation happens.

We are working on almost 19 big-scale AI projects. I'm collaborating with some studios and producing others myself. What I'm creating now, most people won't even imagine for another year. Even the great auteurs have never attempted this. I don't claim to be the first, but my work is incredibly thorough. For a single project, I've spent months on a 400-page research sheet, followed by a 100-page script and 367 detailed prompt-writing techniques. My discoveries are not something I'm willing to share with just anyone.

In the past, I've received good profiles, but I didn't see the passion I was looking for. I saw people boasting about awards and how they were "perfect" for the role. Honestly, everyone is perfect because everyone is awesome. What I need is someone who loves cinema—from Georges Méliès to Steven Spielberg, from David Fincher to James Cameron, from Michael Mann to Guillermo del Toro, from Krzysztof Kieślowski to Zack Snyder, from Terrence Malick to Spike Jonze, from Paul Thomas Anderson to Michael Bay, from Stanley Kubrick to Christopher Nolan, from Mani Ratnam to the Coen Brothers, from François Truffaut to Vittorio De Sica, and of course, from Kurosawa to Ray to Hitchcock to Wong Kar-Wai, and many, many more.

I need a true admirer of cinema. Someone who once loved conventional cinema but never got the chance to succeed in it.

Our projects are mostly science fiction and epic fantasy. If you're the kind of person who has the entire SF Masterworks and Fantasy Masterworks collections, you're the one.

Your Task & What to Submit:

Do NOT send your resume. I don't care about your experience or awards.

Do NOT send drive links. They will not be opened. You can share links to a personal website, but no shared drives.

Do NOT contact me if you are a studio. I am not looking to collaborate with any studios.

First, go to YouTube (https://youtube.com/@meliestospielbergprojects) and type Méliès to Spielberg Projects to see our work. If you like it and feel a connection, then send an email to: meliestospielbergprojects@outlook.com.

In your email, you must prove your passion. You must detail your deep analysis of 9 film or series projects. This is not a simple list. For example, if you love Zack Snyder's Watchmen, explain why you love it, why it's a good adaptation, how it differs from the source material, and why you feel the HBO series doesn't work.

I can create storyboards myself, but I need someone who can visualize and draw before I put my prompts into those "stupid AI models." While they may be million-dollar companies, they've been trained to copy, not to create (as David says in Alien: Covenant). With these stupid AIs, the robo-apocalypse isn't happening anytime soon.

My favorite films and series include:

Films: Blade Runner (1982), The Social Network, The English Patient, Three Colors: Blue, Ghost in the Shell, Dead Poets Society, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Silence of the Lambs, Rush, Heat, A Bittersweet Life, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Ran, Nikita.

Series: The Office (US), True Detective S01, Dark, Westworld, Succession, Samurai Jack, Castlevania, Game of Thrones, Love, Death & Robots, Mr. Robot, Raised by Wolves, The Newsroom, Hannibal, Chernobyl, Heroes, Sherlock, Peaky Blinders, Sharp Objects, The Knick.

This is an open-ended post; there is no deadline. So if you want to wait and see what Méliès to Spielberg Projects will do, wait and see. See you on the other side.
