**Role Overview**

Promise Studios is seeking a highly experienced Senior Development Executive to significantly contribute to the strategic growth and creative execution of our film and television slate. This pivotal role demands a successful track record in developing high-quality projects across various genres, including animation. The Senior Development Executive will play a key role in shaping the studio's content pipeline, focusing on the acquisition and development of compelling intellectual property (IP). You will serve as the crucial link between writers and established film and television talent, and our pioneering GenAI artists, ensuring that every project strategically leverages Promise's unique generative AI capabilities while maintaining the highest standards of storytelling excellence. Reporting to the Head of Development, your expertise and relationships will contribute to defining the creative strategy of Promise.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Creative Development & Slate Strategy**

•
**Work closely with Promise's stable of Gen AI artists **to develop projects from concept stage through completed screenplay, specifically overseeing development and ensuring the effective pairing of Gen AI artists with both established and up-and-coming writers.

**Source and Evaluate Intellectual Property:** Proactively identify, track, and evaluate new IP, books, articles, pitches, and other source material with high potential for film and television adaptation, especially projects that naturally integrate or benefit from GenAI tools.

**Script and Project Oversight: **Guide the creative development process for a diverse slate of projects across multiple genres (live-action film, television series, and animation), providing detailed notes and strategic direction from conception through to greenlight.

**Contribute to Overall Slate Shaping: **Work directly with the Head of Development to define, refine, and execute the studio's overarching development strategy, ensuring the slate is creatively diverse, commercially viable, and aligned with Promise's innovative mission.

**2. Generative AI Integration & Innovation**

•
**Bridge Storytelling and Technology:** Collaborate closely with Promise's in-house GenAI artists, researchers, and technical teams to explore and implement proprietary workflows that enhance or accelerate the creative development process.

**Champion AI-Enhanced Storytelling:** Identify development opportunities where generative AI tools can uniquely push the visual or narrative boundaries of a project without compromising the quality of the storytelling.

**Educate and Inspire Talent:** Work with external writers and creators to introduce them to Promise's GenAI capabilities and encourage bold, innovative ways of utilizing technology in their creative process.

**3. Talent & Industry Relationships**

**Maintain and Expand Network: **Leverage and cultivate strong, existing relationships with high-level agents, managers, producers, writers, directors, and other key creative talent.

**Secure Key Talent:** Identify and bring in top-tier writers, directors, and producers necessary for the successful development of projects.

•
**Represent Promise: **Serve as an ambassador for Promise Studios, articulating our vision to the creative community and building key partnerships.

**Qualifications**

•
**Demonstrated Track Record: **A minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in film and television development at a studio, network, production company, or comparable organization, with a significant history of successful project development from inception to production.

**Genre Versatility: **Proven ability to develop high-quality content across multiple genres. A successful track record in animation development is highly valued.

•
**Creative Acumen:** Exceptional story instincts, critical thinking skills, and the ability to articulate clear, actionable creative feedback to writers and filmmakers.

•
**Industry Network:** Established, high-level relationships with major creative agencies, management companies, and key industry talent is required.

•
**Education:** Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is a plus.

**Technical Skills / Qualifications:**

Experience across both film and television development

•
Background in multiple genres including horror, action, sci-fi, and/or comedy

Previous work at a major studio or streaming platform

•
Experience in distribution or acquisition roles

•
Understanding of new media and emerging entertainment formats

•
Interest in technology's impact on content creation

•
Knowledge of international markets and global content strategies
